Valentine’s Window Dressing Ideas

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and if you haven’t already sorted your Valentine’s retail window display, it’s time to get cracking! You don’t want to leave it too late and miss out on all the seasonal sales. If you’re not sure what you’re doing yet, don’t worry – our visual merchandising company has put together a few ideas that aren’t too difficult to pull off and look really great.

Valentine's heart

Hanging Hearts

It’s all about hearts when it comes to February 14th, and we love the look of those made out of crepe paper – the bigger the better, too! You can keep yours in the traditional red and pink theme, or add a little bit of edge by using black and red, or be completely out there with a set of rainbow coloured hearts! Place them in between your products but make sure they don’t take focus away from what you’re selling by keeping your shop’s items in the forefront of the display.

Raining Hearts

Sticking with the theme of hearts – you can’t go wrong! – you can also create a shower of them in your display. Hang them from your ceiling using invisible thread so it looks as though they’re hanging in mid-air. If you’re using mannequins, it’s also a great idea to have them holding umbrellas as though it really is raining! Easy to do and very effective, this is a great option for last minute displays.

Spell It Out

There are a ton of words related to Valentine’s Day, but we think keeping it simple with ‘love’ is the best way to do it. There aren’t too many letters and it’s easy to see the theme you’re going for! Spell it out using unique and interesting ways, from giant scrabble letters to balloons or LED lights. You could even use your products to create the shape of the word!

Cupid’s Arrows

Cupid and his bow and arrow are a Valentine’s Day icon, so why not use arrows in your display? You can make them red or pink and even have little hearts flying alongside them. Have them ‘pierce’ your products (but, of course, don’t actually pierce them!) or use an arch of them coming from a bow to point to one main product.

Colour Themes

If you’re looking for a lastminute Valentine’s Day display, you can easily put something together simply from following a red colour theme. Collect red products from around your store to display, and find simple props, from red balloons to red glitter, to decorate your display with. Easy!
